man, the future ruins everything

02 Oct

Watching Star Trek on TV Land.

The episode, “The Lights of Zetar,” is partially set on a planet called Memory Alpha.

The exciting thing about Memory Alpha is that it’s one big library, holding all the information in the known universe.

In other words, it’s the internet.

Thing is, it’s supposedly just a repository for Federation knowledge, which means, I suppose, that Starfleet has set up blocks against Klingon and Romulan content.

It’s nice to know that Web 2.0 is alive and well in the 23rd century.
