If politics isn’t your bag, why not head on over to Aisne, France for the 5th Annual Potato Europe Festival, or as the French call it, Pomme De Terre 2008! Exhibitors from all over the continent will be on hand to teach you all you need to know about everyone’s favorite starchy, tuberous vegetable. France is the world’s 10th largest producer of the spud, and we here at Geek USA wish them a hearty “bonne chance!”
For the first time in Europe, the general public will be able to witness the performance of “qualitative optic potato sorting machines.” I don’t know what this means, but I’m sure it will be something special. Bring the kids!
Seminars will be held on such fascinating topics as “Agronomy and Soil Preservation,” and “The Fight Against Mildew.”
Sign up early, or you’ll be (insert potato-appropriate pun here)!
Potato Europe 2008: where the only McCain you’ll see will be the frozen french fry people!
(no, I don’t know what the point of this was, either.)
